Funding is available to help County Activity Assessors gain the qualifications and attend technical update workshops that they require to hold their Assessor posts. This funding pays 50% of the course fees for National Governing Body Courses leading to qualifications required for the role of County Assessor. It also nows pays 50% of travel costs for these courses from 1st July 2008. In return for this funding, Assessors are required to carry out their role for a minimum of two years. As of 1st July 2008 funding is now available to help anyone within Scouting attend permit assessment courses to get an adventurous activity permit. This funding pays 50% of the course fee for the assessment course (not National Governing Body Course) leading to an applicant gaining an activity permit. It also nows pays 50% of travel costs for these courses. In return for this funding, applicants are required to carry out their role of an activity permit holder running activities for a minimum of two years. Applications for this funding should be sent to Gilwell Park using the application form available below.

As part of their youth and development policy the British Caving Association (BCA) are making funding available to voluntary youth workers (including Scouting) taking part in their training and assessment scheme. This takes the form of a refund of the Local Cave and Mine Leaders Award (LCMLA) registration fee on completion of the training, and a grant of £50 on completion of assessment for LCMLA Level 1 or Level 2.
