Programme File
The Programmes File provides sample programmes for each of the Service, Skills and Physical Recreation Sections of the Award. The Expedition Section contains additional advice to that given in the Award Handbook together with the common training syllabus, a sample equipment checklist and route card. The Residential Project pages give contact information for some of the main providers of residential opportunities
The file should be used in conjunction with the Award Handbook and/or Entrance Pack and is aimed at both Award Leaders and participants.
There is a Programme Matrix for each of the Service, Skills and Physical Recreation Sections, to help participants choose their programme by matching up their particular interests.
The programmes themselves are not prescriptive, but present a list of ideas which could be could be followed when undertaking an activity. One or more of the ideas can be developed and expanded to meet the time requirements.
If a participant cannot find an activity in the Programmes File to match their interests they can devise their own. The Skills Sections has advice on how write new programmes and the style used in this File gives a useful format.
