One of the roles of the International Core team is to support those working in Counties/Areas in all they do. The International Core Team have been asked for some sort of standard against which Counties/Areas can measure themselves.
The approach has been to devise a simple, self-analysis tool for use by those who work in support of the international dimension of Scouting at local level. The tool groups the activities into some key areas where we suggest that Counties and Areas can
provide direct services to Groups, Explorer Scout Units and the Scout Network:
- Section programme
- Global awareness
- Link ups and exchanges
- International gatherings
- Residential experiences abroad
- Expeditions
The assessment document is not an exact science but we have suggested some ways in which you can measure the level of activity, and by so doing identify areas where extra effort is required. Completing the analysis can be a useful framework for a meeting of the local team and will also feature in Communication and Consultation and other appropriate meetings around the United Kingdom.
