International Essentials is a reference booklet for anyone involved with the Global team covering all aspects of the ACC/AAC(I) role. Copies of the current version can be obtained by contacting the International Office.
The International Core Team have updated the document and the majority of the document is available here as pdf documents. Some sections (such as the addresses of International Commissioners) are restricted and will be emailed directly to those on the International Team list.
Scouting in the United Kingdom is an information leaflet designed to give overseas leaders an understanding of how Scouting in the United Kingdom is structured and an overview of the programme. A copy in English is included in each Visits Abroad Folder but the leaflet has been translated into other languages including Arabic, French, Russian, Serbian and Spanish.
One of the roles of the International Core team is to support those working in Counties/Areas in all they do. The International Core Team have been asked for some sort of standard against which Counties/Areas can measure themselves.
The approach has been to devise a simple, self-analysis tool for use by those who work in support of the international dimension of Scouting at local level. The tool groups the activities into some key areas where we suggest that Counties and Areas can provide direct services to Groups, Explorer Scout Units and the Scout Network:
The assessment document is not an exact science but we have suggested some ways in which you can measure the level of activity, and by so doing identify areas where extra effort is required. Completing the analysis can be a useful framework for a meeting of the local team and will also feature in Communication and Consultation and other appropriate meetings around the United Kingdom.
