Adults in Scouting Working Group Members
Tim Kidd
Tim started Scouting at the age of eight as a Cub Scout. He first took out a Warrant at the age of 18 as an Assistant Scout Leader. His favourite ever role in Scouting was as an Assistant County Commissioner for Scouts. He is currently the county Commissioner for Oxfordshire and Chair of the Adults in Scouting Working Group.
Tim is the Director of Production Service for the UK Wide Academic Computer Network (JANET), which you will recognise as the people being behind the ac.uk websites.
Mike Kerrigan
Mike started in Scouting at the age of eight as a Wolf Cub in London. His first involvement as an adult in Scouting was in the early 80s as a Group Chairperson in a Group in New Forest West Scout District. He soon moved on to be the Group Scout Leader of the same Group. Mike has held many roles in Scouting and is currently a Regional Training Adviser, a Local Training Manager in Hampshire and still helps with a Cub Pack when he can.
Mike works as a self-employed training consultant.
Dean Jefferys
Dean enjoys working with young people so much that not only is he involved in Scouting, he is also a teacher. Dean is a teacher of history at a large comprehensive school and the District Commissioner of Hornchurch.
Dean enjoys being District Commissioner so much that he says that it is his favourite ever Scouting appointment.
Glen Fendall
Glen is a DC in East Lancashire, and has recently started a multi-cultural Group in Clitheroe, which will see him star on the BBC northwest news!
He was a Cub, but never a Scout, rejoining at 16 as Cub Scout Instructor. He enjoys working with the Scout section more than any other, and has ambitions to be a Scout Leader again before he gets too old!
Peter Rogers
Peter has worked at Gilwell since 1985, first in the Scout section and latterly in Adult Support. As Assistant Director his responsibilities outside Adult Support include the UK contingents to the 2005 and 2007 jamborees, UK events and activities for the centenary year and the development of an International Youth Leadership Development Programme.
Julia Westall
Julia is the newest member of the Adults in Scouting Working Group team, having joined in February 2005. Julia has worked for the Association for 13 years and now provides administrative support to the Adult Support Team.
